Daily safe to spend

What does this do?

Takes the smaller of your remaining spending budget and today's cash position, then divides it over the days left in the month. Savings/investment buckets and past income not yet received are excluded.

How to do it

  1. Cash = liquid balance + income expected by month end − planned payments.
  2. Budget = remaining non-savings buckets.
  3. Daily amount = min(budget, cash) / days left (including today).

Why it matters

You see the limit set by both your budget and your actual balance, avoiding an unexpected negative balance.
