Terms of Service

Effective date: October 25, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Keepsail, including the website at keepsail.com, the web application at app.keepsail.com and any related services (together, the "Service"). The Service is operated by Keepsail ("Keepsail", "we", "us"). When you create an account or use the Service, you enter into an agreement with us and accept these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Who can use Keepsail

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use the Service. You may use the Service only for your own personal or household finances.

2. What Keepsail is (and is not)

Keepsail is a personal finance tool that helps you record and organise your accounts, cards, budgets, transactions, recurring payments, goals, loans and assets, and gives you reports, reminders and AI-assisted features.

Keepsail is not a bank, payment institution, broker or financial adviser. Keepsail does not connect to your bank accounts, does not hold or move your money, and cannot make payments or trades on your behalf. All information in Keepsail is entered, imported or uploaded by you.

3. No financial, investment, tax or legal advice

All content in the Service — including budgets, reports, insights, reminders, market prices, asset value estimates and answers from the AI assistant — is provided for general information and personal organisation only. It is not financial, investment, tax or legal advice, and it is not a recommendation to buy, sell or hold any asset. Market prices and exchange rates come from third-party sources and may be delayed or inaccurate. You are responsible for your own financial decisions; consider consulting a qualified professional.

4. AI features

Some features use artificial intelligence, for example reading receipts and bank statements, the financial assistant and asset value estimates. AI output can be incomplete or wrong. You should review imported transactions and any AI-generated figures before relying on them. You are responsible for what you ask the assistant and for how you use its answers. You must not use the AI features to generate unlawful, harmful or abusive content or to attempt to extract information about other users or our systems.

5. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for all activity under your account. Tell us promptly at support@keepsail.com if you believe your account has been compromised. You must provide accurate account information and keep your email address up to date, because we use it for important notices about your account and your data.

6. Plans, trials and billing

Merchant of Record. Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries related to payment and handles returns. Payments, invoices, taxes and refunds are processed by Paddle under Paddle's Buyer Terms.

Plans. Keepsail is offered as paid subscription plans (currently Essential, Plus and Premium), billed monthly or yearly. Plan features and monthly usage limits (for example the number of receipt scans, statement imports and assistant messages) are described on our pricing page. Usage limits reset at the start of each billing month.

Free trial. New subscriptions may start with a 7-day free trial. A payment method is required to start the trial. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, your subscription starts automatically and you will be charged the price of the plan you selected. We will email you before your trial ends.

Renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period at the then-current price until you cancel.

Cancellation. You can cancel at any time from Settings → Subscription. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you keep full access until then.

Plan changes. If you upgrade during a paid period, the change takes effect immediately and Paddle charges a prorated amount. Changes made during a free trial take effect without a charge.

Taxes. Prices may be shown with or without sales tax or VAT depending on your country. Any applicable tax is calculated and shown by Paddle at checkout.

Price changes. We may change our prices. We will notify you at least 30 days before a new price applies to your subscription, and you can cancel before it takes effect.

Failed payments. If a renewal payment fails, you keep access for a limited grace period while Paddle retries the payment. If payment is still not received, your subscription may be cancelled.

7. Refunds

Refunds are described in our Refund Policy.

8. After your subscription ends

When your subscription ends, your account becomes read-only for 90 days: you can still sign in, view and export your data, but you cannot add or change data. We will email you before your financial data is deleted. If you do not resubscribe within 90 days, we permanently delete your financial data as described in our Privacy Policy. You can export your data at any time from Settings, and you can delete your account at any time.

9. Shared household budgets

On eligible plans you can invite another person to a shared household budget. Only the accounts, cards and budget categories that you mark as shared — and the transactions in them — are visible to household members. Anything you do not share stays private. You are responsible for what you choose to share, and for inviting only people you trust.

10. Acceptable use

You must not:

  • use the Service for any unlawful purpose, fraud or money laundering;
  • upload content you do not have the right to use, or content containing malware;
  • attempt to access other users' data or any part of the Service you are not authorised to access;
  • probe, scan or test the vulnerability of the Service, or interfere with its security or operation;
  • scrape, copy or resell the Service, or use automated means to access it except through features we provide;
  • send spam or abusive invitations through the Service.

11. Your data

You own the data you put into Keepsail. You give us a limited licence to store, process and display it only as needed to provide, secure and support the Service for you, as described in our Privacy Policy. We do not sell your data.

12. Our intellectual property

The Service, including its software, design, text and trademarks, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by law. These Terms give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service while your account is active. You may not copy, modify or reverse-engineer the Service except where the law allows it.

13. Availability and changes

We work to keep Keepsail available and secure, but we do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free or free of data loss. We may change, add or remove features. If we make a change that materially reduces a paid feature you rely on, we will tell you in advance.

14. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these Terms, if payment is not made, if your use creates a security or fraud risk, or if we are required to by law. Where reasonable, we will give you notice and an opportunity to export your data first. You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time.

15. Disclaimers

Except as expressly stated in these Terms, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

16. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for any loss of profits, savings or data, or for decisions you make based on information in the Service. Our total liability arising from the Service is limited to the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

17. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you may bring claims in the courts of that country.

18. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or in the Service at least 30 days before they take effect. If you continue to use the Service after that date, you accept the updated Terms.
